The Jolten Jay's Blues Band is lead by
actor and martial artist Jeff Langton.
Jeff Langton started playing guitar at
the age of eight years old on a Silvertone guitar from Sears Department
Store. His first teacher Jay Schotterbeck, a Jazz Guitarist inspired
him. In 1971, Jeff started high school, and studied music with Ron
Raines and guitar for four years. During high school, Boxing, and
Martial Arts became more important which led to many championships and
awards. Money was tight, so amps and guitars were out but for the love
of playing, Jeff’s good friend let him use his amp and guitar.
Jeff’s first band, The Fox Street
Blues Band played at parties and back yard cookouts. After high school,
Jeff moved to Brooklyn, New York with his aunt to go to the performing
arts school for guitar. Talking with his uncle, his uncle said, “How
about a career in the movie business?” Jeff left New York and went off
to Hollywood.
For the next thirty years, as a
stuntman and actor starred and worked with actors like Sly Stallone, and
Jean Claude Van Damme starring in movies like Lion Heart, and Final
Impact; check out his achievements on IMDB or Wikipedia. During this
time, as a world class cut man, Jeff has trained three world champions
in boxing and kick boxing, and worked the corner in forty world
championship world title fights. At this time, guitar was not part of
his life, until one day at the world famous Jet Center, Dave Mustaine of
Megadeth heard Jeff playing the guitar. Dave said, “Man, are you
playing anywhere?” Jeff said, “No” Then he said, “Why not?”
Jeff said, “I don’t have a guitar.” Dave said, “I will get you
one.” To this day, I still have the guitar that Dave gave to me.
Guitar is back on now. Went out, bought an amp and started taking
lessons and playing.
At Langton’s Boxing and Martial Arts,
student Lance Turner of Automic Punks, Jeff Chambers of Danzig, have
helped with Jeff’s playing. To this day, now Jeff’s band, the Jolten
Jay’s Blues Band, is producing his first CD and will be coming out,
When Lighting Strikes. While back in San Jose, Jeff meets David Hull, a
top blues guitar player, now friends with Dave. Dave has taken Jeff
under his wing, from the ring to the screen back to the stage, Jeff puts
all his heart in his music. Known as Jeff Jolten Jay Langton, Jeff is
going to K.O. the music scene, just like he did the movie screen with
his new Silvertone guitar, Firecracker. Full Circle Baby! |
